Keep treatment and withdrawal records together
Record the animal tag, medicine, treatment date, person administering it and the prescribing professional.

Identify the animal and treatment
Record the animal tag, medicine, treatment date, person administering it and the prescribing professional. Follow the approved product label and veterinary instruction; this article does not recommend doses.
Make the hold visible
Milk and meat withdrawal periods may differ. Record both where applicable and check them before milk collection, movement or sale. Re-treatment can change the release date, so never rely on an old handwritten note.
Check before dispatch
Use a release checklist that includes withdrawal status, movement requirements and the buyer’s conditions. Recording a date is not evidence that an animal is fit to travel; consult a vet when health is uncertain.
