Confirm commodity, grade, unit, currency, date and location. A headline tonne price is not comparable to a farm-gate offer if one includes transport, moisture deductions or delayed payment.
Work out the expected net return
Subtract transport, grading, handling and agreed deductions. Include payment timing in your cash-flow plan. A higher quoted price can leave less cash if delivery costs or rejection risk are higher.
Treat an unconfirmed price as a reference
